Cast Basalt Pipe and Lined Steel Pipe: Choosing a Configuration

Two related product forms

Cast basalt pipes resist abrasion and corrosion and are used as wear linings in slurry and material transmission systems serving power, chemical, metallurgy, mining and coal applications. The supplied range includes nominal diameters from 40 mm to 800 mm.

What a lined steel pipe contains

A cast basalt lined steel pipe contains a cast basalt liner, an outer steel pipe and cement mortar between the two. This construction combines the basalt wear surface with a steel pipe structure. Straight sections, elbows, tees and reducers allow the configuration to follow the project layout.

Match the configuration to the project

Review the conveyed material, pipeline dimensions, pressure requirements, fittings, connection arrangement and installation plan with the technical team. Drawings are particularly useful when non-standard composite pipes or elbows are required. Selection should consider the complete conveying system and its installation constraints.

Plan inspection and delivery

Agree the specification, inspection documents and export documentation required by the project before production. Where installation support is needed, include it in the technical discussion. Long service life depends on the specific medium and operating conditions, so quoted project experience should remain tied to its original application.
