Steel liners on chutes and silos wore out rapidly under coal impact, leading to frequent repairs and low production efficiency.
We adopted basalt cast stone slabs as wear-resistant liners, and provided specification selection and installation suggestions for harsh working conditions.
The overhaul cycle was greatly extended and production costs reduced. We won follow-up retrofit orders for the plant.
Measure the chute, worn lining, transitions and discharge openings. Record coal or gangue particle size, drop height, impact zones and the operating environment. Photograph the wear pattern and check the supporting structure before preparing a replacement layout.
Cast basalt plates can be considered for sliding-abrasion areas, but severe direct impact requires a separate review because the material is brittle. Confirm plate geometry and the treatment of corners, joints and transitions on the layout drawing.
Agree the surface preparation, selected bedding system, curing period and installation sequence with the responsible parties. Check fit and joint treatment before returning the chute to operation. Monitor early wear and any loose or damaged pieces so that the maintenance plan reflects the actual duty.
